VIENNA — British singer George Michael has been discharged from the Vienna hospital where he has been for the past month and is due to fly back home for Christmas, Austrian media reported on Thursday.
The former Wham! star, who had been in intensive care with a severe bout of pneumonia, left hospital on Friday morning and was taken by limousine to Vienna airport, the Oesterreich tabloid reported, citing hospital workers.
"He is a lot better. So much so that he can fly," the paper quoted one hospital employee as saying on its website.
Contacted by AFP, Vienna's general hospital (AKH) declined to comment.
Nach bangen Wochen im Wiener AKH geht es George Michael wieder besser. Er wurde heute aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen.
Weihnachten darf er in seiner Heimat London feiern. oe24.at informiert Sie live!
